After a few weeks of glorious weather, I decided to put one of my heath traps at the North End of the island. This morning it produced a respectable 450+ moths of 50 species; largely Crescent Darts, Triple-spotted Clays and True Lover's Knots.
Amongst them was a rather nice Peach Blossom: a new moth for me, and only the second for Bardsey. Also of note in the trap was a Northern Spinach, surprisingly the first ever Bardsey record. A nice side dish of V-Pug, Narrow-winged Pug, Marbled Coronet, Silver Y, Pinion-streaked Snout and Rosy Minor made for a very pleasant session!
The best moth of the morning undoubtedly went to the Syncopacma taeniolella which was on the light sensor: another Bardsey first!
